Joy,
Man I am so disappointed! I had everything packed for the trip and then the big black cloud appeared over head! We got rain that flooded this place really bad on thursday..then went to the barn with my tall boots on and saw 3 horses were sick! Called the vet and had to put them all on antibiotics. Then Friday Am one more sick horse. So 4 sick horses here. This all happened last minute and had to pull the plug on the trip. No way I could take horses out of here when there were sick ones on the farm. My vet thinks it is a virus and I know it is probably contagious. So far Frost, Star and Secret my mini mare are ok. My old Appy got it too.....man half my horses down. I am giving meds left and right! All the babies got sick and my 25 year old. They look like they are better now.....man I am so mad!
Can;t beleive I missed the Open House and you even drove out and got a ticket! Cheryl said there were over 200 people attended that in 6 hours! I better have one of those here in Ohio! I was planning a barn sale end of Oct but maybe I should make it a combo sale/breed demo.
So glad the Open House was a success but sad I missed it. You have to think about your horses and be a responsible horse owner . I had to make a last minute decision and with my horses and cheryl's in mind I pulled the plug on the trip.
I worked so hard all week preparing. I even made a collage with an Autumn theme to take along. I will be using this for other events but right now have it on display in the family room. It turned out so nice I think.
Here's a couple pics of it....
Again Joy I am sorry not to see you again. Would have loved to visit . Maybe you can come out this way some time?
Deb

Yep I seem to have some "BAD KARMA" as Mandy calls it. She said I was the only one she knows with Karma worse than hers!
Thanks Laura and Joy for the compliments on my Collage. My sister says I would be great as a "scrapper". She does scrap booking.
My horses are getting better...no more have gotten sick yet....sure hope they dont. It is getting colder yet this weekend! Can;t believe this is early October and I am in central OHIO? My sister must have been fibbing when she told me how nice the weather is here....she would do just about anything to get me to move close to her! _________________ Pure Puerto Rican Paso Finos .....Naturally! www.ironhorsepasofinos.com |
